The Origin of Mass
Description: This experimental video was created as a final project for my procedural animation class at Savannah College of Art and Design. It was inspired by demoscene, “3D pipes” screensaver and sub-atomic particle collision images. The name comes from the Higgs Boson prticle (The God Particle) which is expected to provide a scientific foundation for the origin of mass in the universe.
My special thanks goes to professor Ronald Bernard and Puryx aka Christian Rønde who let me use his music for the soundtrack.
I’d say that this is more than just a little inspired – not only the music, but the sync-points and even some direct camera angle-cuts are derived directly from this: http://www.demoscene.tv/prod.php?id_prod=13383
Even the title is a derivate from the original, called “Nucleophile”.
Waaayyy! cool!
nice sound direction
Cool – I like how ya feel the music!
Wow!Good job!
Uh, I’ll have to take a look at this Houdini some day…
Organic mess funfuckingtastic!!!
Very nice!
Very nice! It sure looks demoish, love the colors.
Nice procedural stuff!
Good colours as well.
Thanks! It was all done in Houdini with custom particle network. Camera shake and editing was done in post.
!!!
I agree, the fact that it’s using a demo tune confused me even more. But I really liked what I saw
great demo-like shots
what tools did you use for the animation ?
Amazing Concept…
Did you have to do a script for this? It looks really like a demoscene…
